Taking on one of the most beautiful and challenging works for orchestra is no easy task. The 40-minute epic work, composed in 1888 by Russian composer, Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov, is based on 1001 Arabian Nights. It features brilliant orchestration in a vivid storytelling style, so well-known by the members of the renown VCS Radio Symphony.

It names the best high school and university jazz ensembles globally. We are very proud of our students for bringing VCS into the world-class level of upcoming artists!

LIVE means broadcasting as it happens! We'll be broadcasting LIVE from our studios -- including live bands -- even our own local VCS Radio Jazz Ensemble! It's all to kick off a week-long celebration of high school radio across the country!

Do big FM radio stations transmit hidden broadcasts inside their radio signal?  

Yes, some do; and not just the big stations. Even here at KVCB; our station broadcasts nine separate services for different purposes all encoded into our radio waves. Most services are designed for the public to receive with the right equipment, but a couple of them are "secret" and just for us! :)
